Joy is a three year old mare that was recently broke out this past October through the Lake Erie College program. She was ridden there from mid-October to the end of November approximately three times per week. She knows the basics. She was in the English program. My train of thought was you have to go fast before you can go slow. To allow her also to figure out her legs, etc. She has been shown as a yearling at open shows in halter. She did pretty well. Handled everything like a champ including one where it was very early in October and was like Friday night lights. Her two year old year was just being a horse until she was sent to school in August. She was growing so she was fairly butt high. At school she was ahead of the class meaning she was the first that was ready to be broke out. She has been started on showmanship and is pretty smart with it. She tries to do it all herself with the setup. In the winter my horses are just horses. I do not have an indoor arena. I only have video of the students final ride from December. She is registered with AQHA, APHA RR, NSBA, and PtHA solid. She is also enrolled in the NSBA, Breeder's Trust, Cash for Color and Premier Sires program. I purchased her as a weanling. She's been sound. She is good for the farrier and wears shoes (her feet were getting ate up by gravel/limestone at the college therefore shoes applied). She's a very in your pocket kind of horse and loves to be loved on. She can be defensive about her grain at meal time. When she gets bored and will tend to paw. She does like to play with a ball in her pasture. She has been turned out with my retired show mare. I have not sticked her lately. She is still butt high, but suspect she should end up around 15.2H.
