Western Sky VE – 15-Year-Old Registered Oldenburg Mare, 16 HH, Chestnut by the esteemed Eventing stallion Worthy Opponent and out of Ivy (produced all Premium foals by a variety of stallions). Ivy is by Idol who is known as an excellent broodmare sire, and like his own sire Inschallah sires extremely versatile offspring. Sky is very sound, is not on any maintenance, and has good strong feet.
“Sky” is an incredible horse. Athletic beyond imagination, she has competed successfully through Training Level Eventing, including with a teenager, and schooled Prelim and higher. Sky has schooled up to 4’9”, which is easy for her. She likes to jump clean and would make an amazing jumper as she is quick, catty, and agile. Sky is a blast on the flat, and lateral work is so easy on her; shoulder in, haunches in, half pass, etc. she is confirmed in all. She could easily go to the FEI levels in dressage. Sky is an enthusiastic mare with a decent amount of “go”, so even though she does not buck, rear or bolt, she is very responsive so not for everyone. She is very light on the aids and easy for a quiet, sensitive rider to get amazing work out of.
