This is not easy to put my Red up for sale but it’s doing him no favors to sit in a pasture. Under the right circumstances he could be someone’s wonderful trail partner. Please continue reading for a back story on him. Red is a beautiful Kiger mustang bred in captivity in Eastern Wa. I got him in 2018 as a 7 year old and started him myself. At that time he had 3 months of consistent riding/training and then off and on trail riding ever since. He has been to the beach a few times as well. He has good ground manners, trailers well, handles his feet well and likes people. In my opinion he is still considered green broke, not a beginner horse but overall he’s very easy going and can sit for months and pick back up where you left off. Walk, trot, canter no problem, side passes but not neck rein. He can be a bit nervous at times, but has never bucked or spooked and gotten someone off. It’s nothing a confident rider couldn’t handle. He is amazing on the trails, goes by himself or with other riders. His only downfall is over the years living in western Wa he has developed some serious allergies. I’m not sure if it’s the bugs or something he’s eating in the pasture but it’s only in the summer. He rubs his tail, mane, and belly raw. I’ve tried many remedies but it’s only gotten worse over the years. When I purchased him he did not have the allergies, so it’s something on this side of the mountain that’s bothering him. That being said, he needs to go to someone who lives in eastern Wa or can feed him eastern Wa hay. I have not had him allergy tested so I honestly do not know what it could be, but he seemed to do just fine the first 7 years of his life living in a dryer climate. I have lots of pictures, he’s a beautiful horse. Hoping he finds the right person in the right environment. Thanks for reading.
