My Night Flight (Soar) is a 16.3hh beautiful bay OTTB gelding. In 2015 Soar was soundly retired from the track, sold to his current owner, and retrained for hunter. Soar was ridden consistently and shown in low level hunter/jumper and 4-H classes from 2015-2019. From 2020-2023 Soar was ridden sporadically due to his owner being in college. In the past few months Soar has been getting tuned up and ridden more frequently. He could still use some refreshing on the nitty gritty, but his basic skills are excellent. He has great manners both in the saddle and on the ground. Stands well for the farrier and the vet. Comes right up to the gate and stands to be haltered in the pasture. Puppy dog and in your pocket type personality. He has NEVER bucked or reared in the saddle. As far as vices go, he could use some consistent work on trailering and does paw for treats while being brushed/tacked up. Other than those things, he is truly a fantastic, and well-behaved horse. He would be best suited for an intermediate rider as he has more go than whoa, but a confident beginner receiving lessons would probably do fine as well, since he is extremely gentle. Soar does have chronic allergies, but they are well managed with proper care. He has been entirely symptom free since we started feeding him small square hay bales and housing him outside full time. The owner is looking for a loving home where he will be ridden more often, as he loves having a job. Price is negotiable for a great home, willing to manage his allergies and give him lots of love.
