Looking to enjoy a horse without the full-time commitment of ownership? We’re offering a 1/2 lease on Jess, a calm, confident, and trail-loving 2014 Paint gelding currently located at a private pasture property in Woodside, CA.

Jess is a sweet and reliable 14.2-hand gelding who thrives on the trail. With years of experience navigating a variety of terrain, he’s perfect for an intermediate or above rider who wants to enjoy a few relaxing (or adventurous!) rides each week in a beautiful setting.

About Jess:
Trail Champion: Jess confidently handles creeks, logs, and other trail obstacles. He’s unbothered by new environments and happy both solo and in groups.

Arena-Trained Background: While Jess has a solid foundation in the arena (smooth gaits, both leads, side passing, backing), he currently resides at a location without arena access.

Riding Style: Goes both English and Western, and has even been started over low jumps—he’s curious, willing, and fun.

Ground Manners: Easy to groom, clip, bathe, and shoe. Also previously trained to drive!

Lease Details:
Cost: $390 per month

Riding Frequency: Up to 3 days per week, with opportunities to ride more as the schedule allows

Term: Initial 6-month lease, then month-to-month

Upfront Requirement: First and last month's lease costs due upon signing

Trial Period: 2–3 rides offered to ensure a good fit before committing

Tack: All tack is provided. You may use your own saddle if it fits properly

About the Location:
Jess is pastured in Woodside, with immediate access to a rich network of scenic trails. There is no arena, so this lease is best for someone who truly enjoys and prioritizes trail riding. The setting is quiet and peaceful, ideal for unwinding on horseback.

What We're Looking For:
We’re seeking an intermediate or advanced rider who will treat Jess as their own. He’s not a beginner’s horse, but for the right rider, he’s a kind and steady partner with a lot to offer.
