Virgil is dog gentle to have around the barn, absolutely not a mean bone in his body. Ties, bathes, clips, hauls, hobbles, stands for the farrier like a saint - you name it. Hangs out at the trailer quiet at shows. This guy works hard, and never argues. Virgil has been learning the cowhorse world the last year and has pretty circles & speed changes. He can change leads, turn around, and is becoming a big stopper. He has potential to be a big fence horse with more time. Virgil has won some money in the ranch cutting & boxing with us. This guy will work on the ranch, good working gates and has been roped off of in the past doctoring cattle. He will walk around the show grounds or on the trails flat footed and quiet, but has a big motor and athletic stride in the arena. Ive crossed water with him, and brought cows in from the pasture on him. He has a huge flashy extended trot, and a "up for anything" attitude that could really shine in the VRH. He is the same with time off, and away from home, not high strung or spooky. I've always felt very safe on & around him but he is a big mover and sensitive under saddle and will need a confident rider. Hes pretty enough to stay in the performance world, or could easily thrive in the barrel / roping pen. Very sound, no maintenance required. Easy keeper & super clean in his stall.
