Hickory is a 4 year old 15 hand AQHA red roan gelding. If his flashy looks doesn’t grab your attention, his training & demeanor will!
Hickory is bred to be an athlete with some of the cow horse industry’s legends like High Brow Hickory and CD Olena on his papers.
We have had Hickory in training for over a year now, in that time we have not found a single thing we do not love about this young gelding. He is handy broke with lots of buttons. Lopes off in the correct lead, smoothly picks up his gaits with a nice stop. Moves off leg pressure, stays light in the bridle & neck reins around like a good broke horse should. He is quiet & easy to get along with.
He may be young, but this gelding has dabbled in a bit of everything! Been rode in & out of the arena, down rocky trails & worked at the stockyards. Hickory has tracked and roped the sled, he shows a lot of promise as a rope horse. Things that scare the average horse, do not phase Hickory. He has an amazing mind & has seen every sort of flappy tarp + oddball trail obstacle we could find. We think he would make a fantastic ranch versatility or 4H horse. The sky is the limit for a horse like Hickory, he can go any direction & with his training, he is ready to pick up the career of your choosing!
Don’t let his age fool you, Hickory is SAFE and gentle for any level of rider. He is the horse you can feel 100% confident putting anyone on, knowing he will take care of them. Horses like this don’t come around often!
Hickory is easy to be around, good to catch & loves to be groomed. He stands quietly for the farrier and to be saddled/bridled. Hickory is patient, he will not rush you to get on & waits quietly to be mounted. Absolutely NO funny business!
Great for the farrier. Easy to catch. Leads, loads and ties like a good horse should. Hickory is sound with no vices or health issues. He is ready to win your heart and become your #1 mount! He is 100 percent safe and sound !!
