Paddy’s DYD Five, “James Dean”, is a 16H 2016 AQHA gelding out of PADDY'S IRISH WHISKEY who loves attention….hence his barn name of James Dean! We purchased James Dean from Clint Corey, 18-time NFR qualifier, world champion bareback rider and Pro-Rodeo Hall of Famer, in September of 2023. James Dean came to us green broke under saddle, but with the best ground manners. My 15-year-old son has spent the last year and a half putting a good handle on him. James Dean is a forward mover (more go than woah), moves off the leg, bends at the pole, neck reins, backs for days, roll backs, and side passes. Now he is ready to go in any direction! He has been started on barrels, poles, stakes and keyhole. (More barrels than anything else.) Mix of free runner and push style. More push style when practicing and more of a free runner in the pen running. He was hitting the 2D in shows with 100 horses last summer without really being asked for more and still needing to work on things. Ran a 23.6 last Summer in poles with lots of mistakes. He could be a great overall ranch horse, too; he definitely looks the part. He was recently started in English. With continued training he could be a great all-round horse. James Dean is only looking for his next person because my son has decided he now loves projects and is ready for another one! James Dean is handy youth suitable. He would do best with an intermediate rider because he is so strong and forward, but an advanced beginner under an experienced trainer's guidance, would probably be ok. Great for the vet, farrier, chiropractor, and equine dentist. He stands tied, loads/unloads from trailer, clips, bathes, great stall keeper (poops in one corner) and comes to you when you call him from the field. Up to date on vaccinations, coggins, farrier (front shod), teeth and maintenance. Typical performance horse maintenance: 1 Equioxx daily, Legend injection monthly and right stifle injection. https://youtu.be/3lxDXL9Wbtw?si=9cD2OzdlOPnA1s61
