Leonardo Fancy mover, gorgeous looks, & outstanding disposition 17hh Reg. FSH gelding, 7 years old, bright bay with diamond-shaped star, stripe, & sock Leo is the ultimate dream horse. Standing about 17hh tall with a luscious forelock that meets his nose, he is a kind & forgiving sweetheart of a horse who is also majestic and athletically gifted. He is a registered Friesian sport horse, with a beautiful and correct uphill build, canters softly on a cloud, picks up the correct leads, has a big, beautiful trot worthy of any dressage arena, and is a wonderful and patient soul to handle, ride, and work with. Leo loves to jump and shows lots of scope over fences, is brave to the jumps and easy-going, no rushing, he jumps out of stride nicely. Leo also rides western, has a 1-handed neck rein, and will lope small circles like a 15hh horse. Leo is also good to drive. He can be ridden and driven by novices. Lately he has been ridden by a 7th grade girl, who comes and tacks him up and rides off on him by herself without any adult assistance and also jumps him. He has been in a professional program with us for 1.5 years and is a complete joy in every way. He is a gorgeous mover with a toe-flicking trot and a smooth, uphill canter. He picks up both leads naturally. He enjoys jumping and easily canters fences out of stride, without getting strong. He is delightfully talented for various disciplines, while still possessing a very amateur-friendly type disposition. He is a total sweetheart to work around, he loves people and is immensely kind and focused on his humans. He is voice-trained to WTC/Whoa and will respond to voice commands if needed or wanted. He is great in liberty work and a lot of fun to work alongside on the ground in liberty and will jump jumps on his own if you indicate and has been started on bowing and lying down and desensitized to various props. Leo has only ever been ridden in a plain snaffle for English and a western snaffle for western. He has never been ridden with spurs, martingales, or other gadgets and he has been brought along thoughtfully and with love. He has never been overfaced or pushed too hard, and he has immense trust in humans and is very doting on people. Leo is endearing and he does not have a mean bone. He wants to please and is a super kind, gentle horse with a great big heart. You simply won't find a horse more kind than Leo. He clips, bathes, loads, ships, stands for farrier/vet/dentist, ties, easy to catch, and is extremely well-mannered and a relaxed and happy horse with a very willing to please, outstanding disposition. He is a special horse in many ways and a barn favorite. He does not need prep if he has had days off, and he is not a "hot" horse, does not need to be worked daily at all. Has a very amateur-friendly disposition and has shown himself to be safe for kids. Despite his moderately tall height, Leo is easy to ride for most rider sizes from pe
