Eli is an extremely chill and lovable OTTB, has been restarted under saddle, still very green. Loves obstacles, super brave. Took him out on a short trail ride and he really seemed to enjoy being out, led most of the way, very confident guy. Does great with the farrier and vet. Eli stands in the cross ties, bathes, likes to be groomed, loads easily on and off the trailer. Wears standard front shoes. He has done ground work based on Warwick Schiller Attuned Horsemanship program. He is very easy to work with and is a people oriented horse. He is second in my herd of 3 geldings, turned out 24/7; hates bugs. He does not prefer clipping but I honestly haven't put much time into working through the issue, he very sensitive to vibration. He had a fractured sesmoid when he arrived last Oct so he was turned out and only did ground work from Oct to April. He seems to have recovered well and I restarted him under saddle at the beginning of April. I have found he has the unfortunate response of rearing when he doesn't understand or doesn't want to listen. Likely something he learned at the track. It has only come out once under saddle but that was enough to extinguish my confidence while riding. I think he will make a great partner for someone who has the confidence to help him through this stage. More pictures and videos on request.
