With his large frame, straight legs, big bones, and good feet, he’s built to last, and his striking grey coat is laced with dapples that shimmer like stars. But beauty is only the beginning. J.J. has been part of our family and training program for over a year, during which he has evolved into the ultimate all-around partner. He has been ridden from Missouri to Alabama and Illinois, including unforgettable camping trips through the Shawnee National Forest. Whether it’s navigating tight trails, steep climbs, or wide-open water crossings, J.J. takes every challenge in stride with the confidence of a seasoned pro. He’s bold, brave, and built to go all day, sure-footed, athletic, and full of heart. On the ground, J.J. is gentle, respectful, and sweet as they come. He’s easy to catch, stands quietly for the farrier, and loads and unloads like a gentleman. He’ll lunge both directions, flex softly, yield both hindquarters and shoulders, and side-pass up to the mounting block with the snap of your fingers. Under saddle, he’s nothing less than extraordinary. J.J. is soft in the bridle and rides in a simple O-ring snaffle. He neck reins one-handed, side-passes with ease, and stops off your seat with a softness that feels like he’s reading your thoughts. His gaits are natural, from his signature fox trot to his 4 mph smooth ground-covering trail walk, and a lope that feels like floating. He will even lope both leads beautifully. He carries a beautiful, natural headset with style and pride. J.J. is bold and brave on the trail, no matter where you point him. He’s tackled rugged terrain with confidence, packed gear through mountains, and is good with water, bridges, traffic, wagons, and wildlife. He’s sure-footed, athletic, and has all-day stamina. He’s been around cattle, bullwhips, dogs, and even swings a rope like a seasoned ranch horse, and you can rope the dummy off him. He’ll drag whatever you dally to the horn and handle it like a pro. He’s as flashy as they come, fancy enough to turn every head, and stout enough to carry any cowboy down a mountain trail. This is a horse with heart, BIG heart, and he gives it every time he steps out with you.
