My daughter is heading to college in the Fall and is looking for a new partner for her sweet little gray mare.

WL Blue Moon aka Margo is a 14.1hh 5-year-old Connemara x Welsh/Thoroughbred mare. She is registered with the American Connemara Pony Association as a half-bred Connemara. She is sired by Premium Connemara Stallion R Blue Moon. Margo was shown in the FEH and Young Horse Show Series as a 2 and 3 year old and received a qualifying score for finals both years, placing 1st and 2nd in her Regional qualifier classes both years. She was taken to Finals at Tryon, NC as a 3 year old and won 5th best pony from Ponies USA.

Margo has been working with an experienced trainer for approx. 6 months and can walk, trot, canter, back up, stop, and steer under saddle but is still very green. She has matured slower than we expected, both mentally and physically, so we have taken her training very slowly. She is a clean slate, ready to go in whatever direction you desire! Because Margo is young and inexperienced, she will do best with an experienced trainer to finish her off, but would also do fine with a confident junior who is working with a trainer. Margo is clever, willing, eager and quick to learn and has the sweetest personality. She is adored by all, and she loves people and attention. She will approach you in the pasture, smile for you, and play with you in the arena. She stands in the cross ties and for the farrier, but does still get antsy from time to time (baby antics!).

Margo had a pasture injury in the summer of 2024 which caused some minor muscle atrophy in her left shoulder. However, the nerve has healed and the muscle is nearly fully recovered. She was recently seen by the vet for a re-check and was cleared for full work with no restrictions. Vet records will be made available to serious buyers and a PPE (at buyer’s expense) is welcomed. Margo is out of shape as we have limited her work while the shoulder healed, but is very athletic and should shape up quickly. Margo does best living in a dry lot and is an easy keeper needing minimal grain or supplements.
