“Finitude” (Orchard Hills Fine China x BPM Strawberrie Shortcake x Tantallon Outfoxed) otherwise known at home as “Ricky” is a registered Welsh gelding.

I bought Ricky directly from the breeder as a 2 yr old. He was given time to mature, has done extensive groundwork, and recently started under saddle. He is an extremely nice mover with the potential to be an upper level dressage pony, hunter pony or eventer.
Ricky ground drives, long line/double lunges, ponies, walks over tarps, has been to an obstacle clinic, navigated teeter-toters, and is accustomed to screaming, running, wild banshee children. He does have insecurities annd a tendency to overreact or worry. He requires a patient, well-educated and confident rider who can roll with his quirks and not feed into his reactions. He adores kids and attention from people of all sizes.

Ricky is an easy keeper, turns out in mixed herds, gets along with everyone. He stands well in crossties for grooming and bathing. He’s great for the farrier but is leery of the vet and needs a patient hand when it comes to vaccines. He’s not a fan of clippers either.

Ricky would be perfect for a super game and confident teen or young adult who can roll with the punches and stick with him until he figures out things aren’t actually as scary as he might think. Unfortunately for both of us, that time in my life has already come and gone. I’m currently in my “I’m too old for this $%!+” era.

Ricky has a lifetime registration with USEF, USDF and USHJA. He’s also enrolled in USDF’s All-Breed Awards Program. In 2024, he was Reserve HOTY for 3-yr old Pony Hunter Breeding in Zone 3. He was also the #1 Welsh Dressage Sport Horse Breeding 3-yr old Gelding/Colt for 2024. He’s shown in hand at Raleigh, Clemson, Tryon and Upperville. He’s actually braver at shows and is mostly unphased when traveling by himself. When travelling with a buddy, he has a tendency to become more buddy sour and more anxious.

It’s extremely important to me that Ricky find the right person. He’s managed to tell me that I’m not that person, and I need to sell him so that I can focus on my kids and other horses.
