Honors Surprise - "Tonka" has been the go to gelding on our place for the last few years. We raised and trained this gelding, and have owned him his entire life. He stands 14.2, and is a fun, easy going gelding to ride.
This gelding has been ridden all over the farm. He does great being ridden in the arena, out on trails, or hauled to local arenas. We rope the dummy on this horse regularly, and he would make a great using horse, or just a horse for someone to enjoy.
He is 100% sound, is kept barefoot, up to date on vaccinations, and has never had any health issues.
He’s been ridden by a variety of skill levels and is both calm and responsive. He’s the kind of horse that stays quiet and level-headed but still has the handle to get a job done when asked. With his solid foundation and steady mind, he’d make a great trail partner, a show prospect for ranch classes, or a step-up horse for a confident kid. While he hasn’t had total beginners on him yet, I would trust him with one.
It’s getting harder to find broke geldings with this kind of foundation and temperament. If you’re looking for an easy-going gelding with some buttons, he’s worth a look.
