Meet SoBe, a breathtaking 14-year-old OTTB mare with a kind heart and endless energy. She stands at 16.1 hands and is known for her smooth gaits, affectionate nature, and impressive athletic ability. Amazing bloodlines! Could be considered for a breeding program.
This decision has not been easy, as we truly love her, but she’s looking for a new career that better suits her strengths. ✨ About SoBe:
• SoBe has been regularly ridden in polocrosse (similar to polo), but we’ve come to realize that she would thrive in a sport that is less intense and better suited to her strengths. She has the athleticism and endurance for activities like cross-country jumping, arena jumping, or endurance riding, where she can use her forward energy in a positive way. Not ideal for a beginner, as she has a natural forward tendency—but she is enjoyable to ride and eager to work. Currently riding her regularly and being trained in similar style to trainer Ryan Rose and Clinton Anderson.
* She has a soft mouth and gives with her head.
* Extensive round pen and lounging skills. Started with Liberty work.
* Moves all body parts, backing, side passing, a good stop.
• Extremely safe: no biting, kicking, or bucking.
• We’ve had her for over five years, and she has been a joy to own.
• Stands perfectly for the farrier, ties quietly, and hauls effortlessly. She has traveled extensively across the country and handles new environments well, including electric pens.
• Recent care includes a dental work/check in 2024 and a negative Coggins test for 2025.
• No history of serious injuries or lameness issues. Clean legs and good feet.
• Easily maintained on beet pulp, alfalfa pellets, and grass pasture.
• Only vice is mild cribbing. This has not been a problem for us.
