Clancy is a grade 6 year old Quarter Horse gelding. We purchased him from the auction in September 2024. He was broke to ride and was working the feed lots in eastern Washington. We haven't ridden him since November. He definitely needs a restart. We've been doing some regular ground work and desensitization with him. He was pretty unsure of people when we got him, but would take the saddle easily and did what you asked him (just seemed very tense and nervous, which is why we've been working on the desensitization with him). He did buck my husband off on their last ride in November. He's a very sweet boy, but needs someone who has more time and experience to get him restarted. He's current on vaccines (vaccines got up date after purchase in September) and just had his teeth floated 5/2/25. We've had him pastured with our gelding and mares and he has done well with them all. He does really well for the ferrier and the vet. He's barefoot right now, but would need shoes or boots (like Scoot Boots) for regular riding. He's gentle with our kids and doesn't mind all our dogs and other animals. He is super calm on his trail walks and does well on the road walks (even with passing vehicles). He's also been diagnosed with recurrent uveitis which is manged with Bute when he has a flare up (and sometimes BNP + dex). We have lots of photos and some videos if you are interested.
