“King” is a people loving gentle giant. He is very well trained and knows his gaits. W/T/C. In his early years he was trained in western pleasure. My girls have used him for mountain trails and will easily ride 20+ miles in a day. He has zero race brain and is happy following along whenever we go. He loves water!! He can be ridden alone or in groups. While he does great on the trails he would also do great in the arena and could be an amateur show horse. He could also be a fantastic lesson horse as he picks up all his gaits easily. He really is pretty versatile. His cons: His breathing sounds like a freight train while working however I have had him vetted and scoped and found zero concern or obstructions. His heart rate stays in the normal range. And I do dorm him for his shoes. I can pick up and clean all his feet no problem and even pound on them with a hammer. But my farrier is old and doesn’t put up with wiggly horses so I’ve always just dormed him to make it easier of my farrier. |
