Sweet, easy going mare who is light to the aids and nearly bombproof. This well-trained mare has lots of experience in all phases of ranch riding, cattle work, trail riding, and more. She's very willing, light and handy and has tolerated a variety of riders with varying skill levels. Shay is stunning (pictures don't do her justice) with a beautiful head, natural poll flexion, long flaxen mane/tail, rides in a snaffle or bitless on a loose rein & turns on a dime. Shay has impeccable ground manners and is very respectful. She's easy to catch and handle, stands like a statue for the farrier, is quiet in the trailer, doesn't mind a bath or fly spray. Not spooky, doesn't flinch at traffic, tractors, ATV’s, motorcycles, bicycles, fireworks etc...... No matter what's going on, Shay stays calm - never gets hot or silly. Perfect size, thick draft-like build with a strong QH hind. Nice big feet, straight legs, smooth gaits - easy-to-sit trot. Suitable for an educated beginner but also fun for experienced riders who will appreciate her sanity and fancy buttons. Super responsive neck rein. Not a slug or a deadhead. Shay is very brave and really enjoys trail riding. She'll go over, under or through whatever you ask her to and doesn't spook at new or scary things. She will lead or follow and goes out alone with no issue. Gets along with everyone in the pasture and on the trail. Not marish. Sound with no history of lameness.
