Graceland’s Lucia is a stunning 2017 16.1h premium registered Oldenburg mare. Lucia is currently competing at Novice with her trainer and at Beginner Novice with an adult amateur. In 2024, she placed 3rd at the Area VII Open Novice Championships, finishing on her dressage score of 28.3. She recently competed in the Open Novice at Twin Rivers and finished on her dressage score, as well. Lucia qualified for the AECs at BN with her adult amateur rider (they finished 3rd and 4th at their most recent BN events)!
Lucia is fancy on the flat & soft in the bridle, with scores in the 20s (she could happily pivot to straight dressage—her best score is a 25.3!). She is a tidy, quick show jumper with established lead changes—she carries a nice pace while jumping, and is adjustable and soft to the fences. Lucia has schooled through Training level cross-country, totally unbothered by ditches, water, and banks (she’s a fun ride to gallop around!). Goes in a snaffle for all three phases and does not get hot or strong. She is more of a kick ride, but has an engine when she gets going. Her ideal rider would be a confident JR/YR or AA that is in a program—someone who wants to compete and have fun!
She is excellent off property, settles in right away at events, and loves going to horse shows. Hacks out on the buckle (she loves trail rides), isn’t spooky, and is unphased in busy environments. On the ground, Lucia is quiet, easy to handle, enjoys attention, and could stand in the cross-ties all day. She hauls well, stands for baths & clipping, and has no stall vices. Around the barn, she is sweet & personable and will happily go for bareback hacks in a halter—she loves to hang out with her person!
This mare could easily transition into a hunter/jumper or dressage home—or continue her career as an eventer!
