Braeberry Hector, aka “Brogan”, is a wonderful Fell Pony who is not only beautiful but also has a truly exceptional mind. While not at all dull, he remains calm, steady and willing in new situations and genuinely enjoys adventures. He is brave, athletic, adaptable, not spooky, and his personality is as adorable as his looks: sweet, social and fun-loving.

Brogan knows all age-appropriate groundwork and is currently being started under saddle. He is coming along beautifully. He is extremely smart, learns easily, and retains everything very well. He is uncomplicated, easy-going yet attentive, outgoing and up for just about anything.

He is good for grooming, the vet and the farrier. He loads, unloads and trailers like a dream. He ponies well in all kinds of terrain. He is very surefooted with fantastic feet that don’t need shoes. He loves water, both baths and playing in lakes. Brogan gets along well with any horse he has ever met.

Brogan has had exposure to many different things and environments to prepare him to be a well-rounded adventure pony. He handled his first show like a pro, he’s been in a Christmas parade and loved it, He has worked with tarps, crossed bridges, and been exposed to flags.

The reason I am parting with this outstanding pony after I’ve poured so much love and effort into him is because my husband’s Clydesdale needs a very expensive surgery, and parting with Brogan will allow us to cover the cost.

That said, Brogan will only be sold to an absolutely wonderful, carefully vetted forever home. His ideal owner would be a petite adult, for even though Brogan is 13.2 (the breed standard), he has a sleeker, more athletic build. Fell ponies continue to grow and fill out until they are 8 years old, but he will not mature to be a heavy, draft-style pony. I would love to see him with an experienced rider who could continue his training. He would thrive with an active person who could take him on adventures and enjoy him to his full potential. He’s not the type that needs to be worked constantly, but he loves doing things and being with people so much that I believe an active, varied life would make him happiest. And, though his willing and calm personality would make him a great child’s pony at some point, we prefer to find him a home with an adult as his main person so he won’t be outgrown and passed along.
