Evie is a 3-year-old Thoroughbred filly by Rowayton (by Into Mischief) out of a Majestic Warrior mare. Pretty as a picture, but built with tremendous substance - I love how this girl is put together. While she’s not the tallest horse in the barn, she is thicker than a snicker (and who doesn’t love those!) and has no problem taking up the leg of a taller rider if need be. Not only is she stunning to look at, she is as sweet, kind and gentle as they come. Her transition from track to farm was easy and she quickly got with the program. She’s been pastured out with my personal horses and is as no-drama as they come. Despite being young she’s independent and has no issue leaving her buddies or with the 1/3 mile trek over to the indoor by herself. She’s an incredibly acclimated young horse with a great head on her shoulders. She’s good for the farrier, stands perfectly in the wash stall (LOVES her face washed / to drink from the hose), kindly lets me crawl all around her every night painting feet and putting on bell boots. Shes just the one I feel super comfortable and safe around. If it stopped there she’d still be a fabulous horse, however she is truly as lovely as she looks and behaves on the ground. We assessed her at liberty and she showed a ton of reach and hock action through her trot. When she arrived she was (as excepted) a bit tight from just racing but has let down and loosened up beautifully with just a few weeks of turnout. Later she was evaluated in the jump chute and she tackled the question as most mares do, bold and bravely. At first, she was a bit over enthusiastic but quickly the wheels begin turning and she started to settle in and think about the question. Evie easily popped over a 3’3” oxer by the end with room for more. She is catty and athletic - striking me as an event / jumper type personality though I certainly think she could go the dressage route as well given the potential in her movement! Evie has been lightly restarted under saddle with two rides under her belt with two different riders. She knows how to lunge both directions and stood decently at the mounting block, forgiving her riders poor planning when walking off and brushing the box - she remained unflappable. Under tack she is green but simple, there was no funny business. We worked a lot on bending, softening and moving up into the bridle - all met with a positive and willing attitude. Walk trot canter both directions and unbothered by passing pedestrians, pooches or tractors. 🚜 🐶 She’s just got a solid brain 🧠 and a lot going for her. Anyone would be lucky to add this filly to their barn. Additionally, should you desire I think she’d make an excellent broodmare prospect down the road between her build, movement and temperament. Evie has no vices or known injuries. She is eligible for the RRP. Walkertown, NC. Shipping available.
