Here on consignment is Gus a grade/dales pony. Gus sticks at 14.3hh and built like a tank. He is a bay gelding, estimated around 12 years old and UTD on everything.

Gus is a pro in the arena. He has a nice walk, jog, canter, sidepass, back and pivot. I have used him for a couple of beginner lessons now and he was excellent. He neck reins and plow reins, is well desensitized, goes through the obstacle course with ease, clips, bathes, trailers, stands on the crossties and hitching post quietly. He has excellent ground manners and a sweet personality.

Gus is a bit buddy sour, we took him on a trail ride the other day and 90% of the ride he was an easy going, beer drinking, trail horse. He went in the water, passed bicycles, dirtbikes, vehicles, construction, boats, and more. On the way home he heard the other horses calling from the barn and got a bit antsy, for that reason I would say a confident rider would be best on the trails.

I personally think that gus would make an excellent show horse and/or addition to a lesson program. I also think he would be a great trail horse with a little bit more time spent out on them.
