Harley – Gentle, Well-Mannered Mare Harley is a 14-year-old flea-bitten gray mare (some might call it Raku, like the pottery), healthy, sound, and well cared for. With our daughter moving on to other interests, Harley is not getting the riding time she deserves. We are looking for a good home where she can continue to be enjoyed and cared for. Highlights: Solid basics: leads, ties, stands, saddles, and does well with groundwork Stands quietly to be saddled and takes the bit easily Comfortable under saddle at walk/trot, ready to continue her training Has shown she knows how to collect herself We believe Harley has had more advanced training: she knows how to sidestep and shows signs of knowing how to position a rider for opening and closing gates Well-behaved for the farrier Good feet, sound, and has had consistent care Up to date on routine care (vet, farrier, shots) Loads and hauls well Enjoys lessons and time with people Comfortable around dogs Picks up her feet willingly for cleaning Does well being groomed Has not kicked, reared, or bucked while in our care The attached photos and videos were taken in September to give an accurate, up-to-date look at Harley. Harley has solid basics, offering a rewarding opportunity to build upon her existing foundation. She is best suited for an intermediate rider who enjoys bringing a horse along. On a temperament scale of 1–10, she is about a 3: very patient but not lazy, and she would enjoy having a job to do, whether in an arena or out on the trail. Seeking: A responsible home with the time and commitment to give Harley the attention she deserves. Contact for price and additional details.
