Indigo 🍁 Indy aka “ Indigo” is a 6 year old grade quarter draft cross gelding standing at 15.1 hands. Indy came to use a bit feral earlier this year. We took Indy in from pure pitty for him. His owner passed away 2 years ago and he was abandoned in a large Feild to fend for himself. People had noticed what was going on couldn’t catch him but continued to feed him till we were able to get him to our facility. Indy is THICK, STOCKY, and STRONG! His confirmation is incredible with some solid hooves and thick boned. He is timid but very very sweet once he warms up to you. He is halter broke, stands tied, gets along with others, LOVES baths, and does not get on the trailer well LOL. Trailering has been something we have wanted to work on but really do not have the time for this horse. We have backed him twice and he’s taken a bit once. He did great with all of this! Some huge cons about Indy- * his hooves! Still had some wicked trust issues. Will pick them up but isn’t comfortable with someone being under him. We haven’t had a chance to really work on this unfortunately. * fencing- when we picked him up the Feild was fenced in with chicken wire type fencing? Wasn’t much holding it up. We have just had him in round pen panels he doesn’t push on them or anything we again just don’t have time to put him out in a pasture and see what he does. * he can be hard to catch at times. He will run away for a minute then faces up to you and will stand for a halter. * trailering! He does not like to get in the trailer BUT once in the trailer he’s as cool as a cucumber and trailers GREAT! 😎 * his tail, he is weird about people being behind him. His tail and mane were tangled up so bad in burdocks when we got him. His mane is all taken care of but not the tail. This horse is definitely a PROJECT! An easy one for someone who has TIME and PATIENCE! We haven’t already put a lot of time and money into this horse we really want to ensure he is getting a SAFE home even if he’s for resale hence why our asking price is what it is.
