Vera here is out of the Amish at some point. Very likely she drove when she was there, and was quickly broke to ride before sold. She is a super safe horse, but isn’t what I was really looking for. She is mellow. I was looking for a horse for mounted shooting. She probably could but she’s not a high drive personality. She has a lot of power when she moves. She would be suited for an intermediate or confident beginner. She is very mild mannered. But also a bit stubborn at times. She is not good with leg cues, and often needs direct rein to steer. She’s been getting better with leg cues however she’s still learning. If she happens to spook, she stops easy. She has a good head on her. And generally listens well. She’s not super spooky, she’s got no bite/kick/buck, she’s my farrier’s favorite because she just sits there. Her favorite speed to go is a fast motivated walk. But she also isn’t going to go through your hands. I would trust her to pony kids, but I would not put a first time rider on her, but ponies she could have anyone on her back and have no vices. She is social and good with other horses in her group. She usually is a mid level horse in the herd. She’s not a jerk, but she won’t put up with a horse who is being a jerk to her, she will push back. But she doesn’t go starting drama. She raises goals easy and is a phenomenal mother. She WILL steal other goals from moms and feed them. I have another pair here and that filly sometimes nurses off of her. She’s a great broodmare, as she came to me pregnant and has such minimal maintenance and is an easy keeper riding or being a broodmare. She has a colt on her side (6mo mid September) he’s a liver chestnut in color and is a cute ham little boy. He can be led, pick up his feet, pet all over. Typical baby. At weaning they can be separated. If purchased you can choose to take both or she can go solo. $5000 for her and her colt together $4000 for her alone $1500 for her colt alone after weaning Bring a vet if you please. If you are far and pay for it I can schedule my vet to do a PPE for you and send the info to you. If you are local come check her out. She’s super reliable, I love her but she’s not what I need in my program, so trying to find a good spot for her to move to. She is a horse I can trust kids to go in and grab her and she is insanely safe on the ground for anyone. Riding safe but not fresh beginner because I feel she needs some training to learn her cues better.
