Crown Royal is a 4 year old, 15.3 HH draft cross with the kind of mind and disposition families dream about. He is by a Gurrola bred Quarter Horse stud and out of a Morgan × Belgian mare, giving him the best qualities of each breed. The Quarter Horse contributes trainability and athleticism, the Morgan adds heart and versatility, and the Belgian brings strength, bone, and that naturally calm draft disposition. The result is a horse with the perfect blend of brains, comfort, and reliability.

From the moment he was born, Crown Royal was surrounded by children — truly redefining the phrase “born broke.” He grew up with kids climbing on him, brushing him, and learning around him, and because of that upbringing, his patience and kindness shine through in everything he does. He genuinely enjoys people and especially has a soft spot for kids and timid riders. He is the type of horse that builds confidence rather than taking it away — the kind families search for but rarely find.

Crown Royal has been extensively exposed to “real world” situations and is a true all-around horse. He has been ridden on large cross country course where he confidently jumped logs, ditches, banks and went through water. He has also been ridden double, triple, and even backwards. He has completed obstacle courses including teeter-totter bridges, pool noodles, traffic obstacles, and more.
He has been around cattle, helped gather longhorns, and has been ridden comfortably through town, around loud semi-trucks, heavy traffic, construction noise, and busy environments. We’ve even ridden him to coffee shops and local food stands — and yes, we have even gone fishing on him.
Under saddle, Crown Royal rides both Western and English and has done dressage work. He moves nicely off the leg, collects, and easily transitions into an extended trot or canter. He has exceptionally smooth gaits with a fantastic jog, an easy rhythmic trot, and a soft, comfortable canter that is perfect for beginner riders — especially kids learning to canter.
For riders who need a little extra help mounting, Crown Royal is trained to come to the mounting block and will also lay down on cue.
