Name: Nina Registered name: Dulce Nina Breed: Azteca (1/2 Andalusian, 1/2 QH) Registry: IALHA Eligible (buyer will get filled out paperwork to send in) Sire: VA MENSAJERO IALHA: 14662 (S) Dam: POLANDS HONEYNSUGAR AQHA: 4118600 Registration number: TBA Height: 14.3hh Age: 6y Colour: Bay Location: Quesnel, BC Nina is a lovely Azteca mare looking for her new person! Nina gets her brightness and sensitivity from her Andalusian sire. She is a forward moving mare and a worker bee. She is cheerful, bright and alert and is a really fun horse under the right rider! Nina has all the typical manners that a horse her age should have. She loads in a trailer, stands tied, will come up to be caught, leads, lunges, and will stand for the farrier. Nina is an athletic horse who has received the best of both breeds in her lineage. She has a lot of power in the hind quarter but has a lightness up front. She is improving on her suppleness and flexibility and learning how to use her athletic body. Nina is now 5 months under saddle and is progressing well. She has been gaining self control when worried as this has been a challenge for her. She has never offered anything nasty of dangerous under saddle but will require an experienced and sensitive rider at this time. She is learning to work slowly and calmly while focusing on cadence and rhythm. Nina is starting to really enjoy her work and should do well with the right partner to continue her training. She is easy in lateral work in walk and trot, starting travers/half pass and lengthen trot/canter. Her canter is both powerful and cadenced while being smooth to sit. Nina has been hauling off property for working equitation practices and has taken exposure to the real world well. She is calm and patient waiting her turn while tied and uneventful when her friend gets taken for his turn. As she is still green everything is being introduced slowly and non confrontationally which she has thrived with. She has been brave with introductions to new WE obstacles and likes having a job to do and something to think about. Nina is a relatively easy keeper. She requires no maintenance. She lives happily in a herd. She has never foundered and has no soundness or health concerns at this time. She has no known vices but at this time is still considered a strong willed, green horse so requires a knowledgeable and confident owner. This mare could really go in any direction at this time as she likes working through challenges together with her rider as long as she feels you are being fair. She has a very good gentle start inworking equitation and classical dressage and has been trained by Zuzana Schrammova who is one of the top classical trainers in the area as well as a very successful working equitation rider.
