Roan Dog is a 12 year old bay roan cross gelding and stands 16.1 Hands and weighs 1500 pounds. He is ¾ Quarter Horse and ¼ Percheron. This has been my own personal horse ever since I broke him to ride. Roan Dog is the ultimate working ranch horse, he has been used in pro rodeos as a pick up and bull shagging horse, has carried flags in the grand entry and parades, but more importantly he is always the first horse on the trailer to go on a cow catch or simply doctor calves out in the pasture. He is solid, honest, dependable, and safe for any level rider. Roan dog has been trail rode many miles in multiple states, including the national chuck wagon races in Arkansas every year since he was 2 years old. He has the disposition, confirmation, and color you will wear a truck out trying to find. He loads/ unloads, trailers, ties, saddles and bridles with ease. Great to clip, bathe, pick up all 4 feet, and stands quiet for the farrier as well as the vet. Gets along with other animals large and small and loud noises of any kind do not bother him a bit. I can’t say enough good things about Roan Dog, if you’re looking for an all-around ranch horse or just a horse to take trail riding Roan Dog will be dependable every single time. He is one of a few that no matter how long he sits or no matter how cold the day is he will always be the same horse every day.
