Fantastic foundation with an even better brain! You will not find a better minded 4yo on the market! 021 AQHA/ APHA chestnut gelding by Smoking Whiz (LTE 213k) out of an NRHA producing mare. Everyone wants them as easy, honest, and laid back as this dude! This gelding is a non-pro /amateur DREAM! With no tricks up his sleeve – you’ve just got to check out this sweet guy! Hamster is just adorable – he does not have a mean bone in his body, he is EXTREMELY personable, loving, and agreeable to get along with. Always greets you at the gate, stands tied for grooming, easy to bathe, clip, loads, excellent stall manners, gets along wonderfully with others etc. I cannot pin a single vice on this guy. He has been a joy to have here in the barn! Drom ranch riding, SHOT versatility, local shows, trail riding, sorting, or western dressage this young prospect is going to make a lovely all around mount. This guy can certainly live at home and do all the things, or, keep him sharp at the trainers. We just hop on and go, Hamster requires NO lunging prep, he will ride honest like a seasoned veteran any day of the week. He spent his full 2yo year with a professional reined cow-horse trainer in Tennessee! There, he was brought along slowly and was taught a correct foundation that anyone can build on. Then I sold him in March of 2024 to a wonderful youth rider in MS where she showed him on the ranch riding circuit, sorted off him, took him on trail rides and truly loved him like a best friend. Hamster has been to several ranch riding shows & clinics with a non-pro rider AND youth rider – he hauls like a champ off property with zero spook. He successfully has been started on live cattle and shows great talent there as well. He naturally is a push ride, and wants to be a bit on the lazier side and willingly will move through the gear box when asked.Everything we have introduced to him first handedly; he has taken in stride with such an incredible brain. You can rope/drag a log off him, flag the tarp all over him, he goes over all the obstacles, crosses water, navigates over step overs, and has even had a gun shot off him. When I mean quiet…. I mean quiet. I never once hesitated when I climbed on him bareback in a halter! He is a lovely mover, adjustable, comfortable, smooth. I see him thriving as a western dressage horse as well. He rides relaxed on a loose rein and will happily collect into the contact when asked. Currently going around soft 1 handed in a bridle. No buck, rear, bolt, nor have I ever witness him spook, or make a wrong step. Hamster is extremely well put together; big boned, great feet, stands a stout 15H and yes - that’s his real tail in the videos! Unfortunately the yearlings strike again - and Hamster got his tail chewed off a few months ago. The video shows what his tail looked like in 2024 (thick long and gorgeous), and then the short bobtail is his current tail which is showcased in the CURRENT video footage. More info o
