Scotch is a 2013 15.2 hand registered AQHA gelding. His day job is a head horse but he checks all the boxes. He has been ranched off, rode in the arena and been trail riding. For a head horse, he would be good for a novice roper but not a true beginning roper. You would need to be able to ride and have a good start on the sport. A low number team roper but not a beginner roper. Scotch is safe but he still needs a little guidance. He has the ability to gather in the corner but it’s not automatic. He doesn’t move over on his own when cattle fade…he needs help with it. But he’s very willing, very forgiving, runs hard to the hip, is strong from the horn and with some more maintenance would be excellent in the box. He’s big, has enough speed and try and gentle. A number 4 roper would get along with him just fine. A 3 that’s a good horseman would. Any number above that could make him a nice horse. He’s be a project or practice horse for a 5 or above.
