“Joey” is a unicorn. End of story. 16.2h OTTB grey/roan gelding. Lovely on the flat, quiet wtc, started over fences and in a consistent program and will remain in one until sold. His father must have been a leprechaun, and his mother was in fact a unicorn. Want to go to a hunter show? Joey is your man. Want to go to a three-day event? Joey. Want to go wine tasting with the girls, spill all the tea, enjoy lots of cuddles, maybe push some cows on the way to the next vineyard, Joey is all for it. AND you will be on the flashiest, happiest, sweetest, boy out there. He has been a lovely young horse to produce, truly a wonderfu prospect. Joey came off the track to Trodaire Farms and was given plenty of down time to just be a baby horse and mature under the supervision of older ranch geldings. He has roughed Idaho winter and required no maintenance other than a one-ton bale of hay to park himself in front of while I was away competing winter circuit. Has been barefoot with zero issues and currently in front shoes and still barefoot behind. LOVELY mover and puts the biggest smile on my face every ride and every jump. He is just enjoyable, great work ethic, not all serious and mechanical, he has the best personality. Joey is still a bit green as he is still just a kiddo, I imply green on the maturity side of the spectrum, he is not a bolt buck rear ill-behaved brumby, he is basically a Montessori child that sometimes gets so excited about a new adventure, and it is just that, sheer baby happiness. Turns out great with others, turns out solo, loads on anything, hauls like a gentleman, stands and flirts with the farrier, wormer/spray/bathe/shots/hot shoe/cross tie/hard tie/ all the things. Has been packed to a couple local shows and clinics, if no sale Joey will go south to Florida for the season and continue his education (which will push price upwards). Serious inquires please, no holds, priced lower 5’s. Veterinarian for PPE is 20 min away, easy access for shippers with many traveling through.
