Tug is a been there, done that paint gelding. Ready to be your trail horse and best buddy. He is done being a rope horse but has a lot of use left in him. He does need some maintenance but is worth the effort. He is APHA registered. He's cowy and would also be suited for ranch work. Loads, hauls, and unloads well. Good for the farrier. Good with dogs, loves being around kids and any person at all. Good around other horses. Always happy to ride. He is an easy keeper and does best kept on minimal pasture. Tug has done extensive trail riding in his life and was used for team roping on the head side for many years. He was originally my husband's head horse and during that time was also ridden a lot on poker rides and trail rides by both my husband and I. At that time I was a beginner level rider and I fell in love with him. He became my horse and also did some breakaway roping with me. He has only been ridden periodically for the last 6 years as I got too busy. We recently had shoes put on him and have started riding him again. He keeps level headed even with very minimal riding. I got right on him this month and rode him in our arena. I would consider myself an intermediate rider and I don't have an issue getting on him after his time off. He does need to get more riding in to get in shape and tuned up. Because of this I would consider him a horse for an intermediate rider right now. If he had been ridden more regularly, he easily becomes a beginner friendly horse. He does get sore in the front and wouldn't pass a vet check, but he responds well to a low maintenance level of bute. We have never tried injections or Equioxx on him, although someone could try this for maintenance instead. We need to have 2 roping horses on our property and unfortunately just can't regularly ride more horses than that which is why we want to find Tug a new trail rider. Going to a good home matters to us. He is a horse with a golden heart and would love to take you all over the trails.
