Dosies Royal Princess (barn name “Princess”) is a big bright bay with one brown eye and one beautiful blue eye. She has dark hair and black skin surrounding both eyes, so she shows them both very clearly. She is a 2025 filly who just weaned off her dam and put into our ‘kindergarten’ at the barn to learn to lead, handle, load, unload, and stand tied. She will be introduced to a saddle and blanket, and she will learn round pen commands – both on a lead line and at liberty. We are teaching her the gaits in both directions, stopping, allowing herself to be caught - she is already being washed, brushed all over and having her feet picked up, cleaned, trimmed. Princess’s sire is our Appaloosa stallion, Ima Royal Prince, a black and white leopard Appaloosa with blue eyes. His dam is a registered quarter horse bred from Doc Bars and King Ranch stock. Princess’ own dam is a big gray Quarter Horse with our Peptoboonsmal breeding on her sire’s side and older foundation horses from King, Waggoner, and Hankins stock (her dam was born here at the ranch). Princess has a big hourglass blaze across her face with lots of white on her nose, lower lip and chin, and four white socks. This filly has plenty of cow horses in her breeding to do a ranching job, she also shows some light and showy action at the trot in her video we have included. She moves freely, and smoothly, really reaching out at a fast trot. Princess has a small, refined Quarter Horse head, short level back, long square hip with a powerful rear end, and straight legs with plenty of bone. She is extremely well muscled from running out on pasture with her dam – she embodies quality and correctness in every way. This filly, like her peers, is curious and friendly, but she may hesitate to try new things until she understands what is expected. Being the largest of the weanlings, she tends to be the boss and the alpha baby, which has been easily overcome by her handlers. We show Princess new things every day, and we see her cow horse moves, the ability she has to quickly accomplish new tasks, and her easy way of travelling. We are excited about her prospects, as her breeding is so versatile, her mind is so agile, and her physical presence is so commanding, she has countless avenues to reach her potential.
