Boogie
2019 apha gelding. Those of you that love playgun, he’s got them on his papers!! His back sock above the hock is what qualified him as apha. Sire is a heel horse, dam was a cutting horse. I bought him from the people who bred him, he has not been passed around, traded around, etc. I have been the only owner besides the breeder. It’s been an absolute pleasure to own this gelding. I will be sad to see him go, but he deserves his forever person.
Boogie stands about 15hh I need to tape, good build to him, clean legs, shoed all the way around. All of my horses are. We live on rocks. Literally. Great for farrier, Utd on worming, shots, etc.
Boogie is the definition of laid back! My friend did take him for a month or so and used him to gather and doctor on, his words were “he’s not the fastest, he isn’t perfect at it but will get the job done”. I don’t think that’s what he wants to do everyday. He doesn’t want to be pulled out, used and put back. This is a horse that wants the attention, wants the human interaction. When I first got him he didn’t know what it was, it took awhile, now he is the first to greet you at the gate, begs for attention, and absolutely loves it. He will stand tied all day long and not move a muscle, bathes, hauls great, he’s good with other horses, we are currently flooded out so I do have him in a bigger stall with another horse and they are best buddies. Great to saddle, bridle, stands to mount. Smooth transitions to gates, pretty dummy proof kinda ride. Stops, backs up, turns around, really smooth long trot. The videos you will see are after him sitting for awhile, got on and rode. He lunges however he’s pretty lazy, he’s a step on and go horse. He rode out and about with his head low, eyes calm, nothing seems to really bother him too much. Boogie likes a calm person, if you are loud, rough maybe have too much testosterone he isn’t going to get along with you, like I said he really wants love. While he’s very easy to ride, I would not consider him a “kid” horse. He was cowboyed on before I got him, it’s a completely different life style and while he’s made a complete 360, I would prefer him to go to someone with a little knowledge, or atleast be the one to help do everything with him for awhile before just handing him off to a kid. Has not offered anything mean! No buck bolt rear. No kick bite, etc. He’s seen a lot, and been around a lot. If you ask me to pick a flaw I’m not going to, if you get the chance to own him you wouldn’t either unless you’re like me and love speed, then maybe just maybe you can say he needs to pick it up alittle! lol. Easy keeper. No grain, no supplements. No maintenance. I will be getting some more video when we are not flooded if he is still here. It’s a very bad time for me to post, as my arena is going to be down for awhile. My horses usually sell within 24-48 hours. They don’t last long. My videos show what they are and what they should be.
