Kruz 10 year old grade red roan gelding (Hancock lines- sire and dam known- his registration was never completed by original owner and the time and cost didn’t seem necessary to me) 15.3 hh but seems bigger- large solid build. Very nicely broke. BIG motor and forward mover- more GO than woah. Wants to cover ground and wants to have a job- he is FAR from lazy. Kruz is being listed as a ranch horse due to his ability to cover ground and tireless energy (and he loves being out on the trail/up in the mountains) and I think with his general underlying anxiety it would suit him better-however, I had used him as a barrel horse (as has the previous owners)- he requires some maintenance and special treatment if going down that road and I’m happy to discuss with somebody who’s genuinely interested. Kruz ran 2D locally and at larger events and ran 18.1’s on a standard our first seasons together. Kruz needs an *experienced rider* as he is very strong with a big engine and is FAST. NOT suitable for children or beginner / timid riders. He is however a very easy keeper and loads + travels very well. Can be kept in a herd or individual paddock- not herd bound or buddy sour AT ALL. Stalls well but prefers the outdoors. Self pens at events as well and is very chill at the trailer (you’ll find him snoozin more often than not). Maintenance done and may require upkeep depending what you would like to do with him. Good for the farrier and all manner of equine body workers. Was barefoot when I got him, I had shoes put on him when I was running him- currently just has front shoes on. He needs FIRM boundaries and a quiet hand. He is 100% better the more you use him however he does not offer to buck bolt etc but he excels as somebody’s #1 mount. 5+ rides a week suits him best. He does get tense and anxious in the arena if allowed- again the more you ride him the better he is. He can be rode out by himself or in a group - he also has no gate or alley issues and handles warmup arena just fine. Is good in the hills and has no trouble outpacing the herd. He does have quirks (will discuss) and a big personality. Loves “games” (hence the firm boundaries) and loves attention and thoroughly just enjoys “you” time. He is a cautious creature so would not be suitable for an excitable person. I adore Kruz and he is only up for sale as I have several young ones on my plate already and Kruz simply requires too much of my time for us to be a successful team- I can’t give him the support he needs at this point in my life and I’m branching out in other directions and he doesn’t fit the bill. Located in the Okanagan, BC Please reach out if interested in discussing Kruz further as a serious buyer. ☺️
