Looking for a truly unique, well broke horse with a long resume of proven experience? Phoenix has trained in NYC, ridden through the Bronx at night, and has literally seen it all. Load him up in the middle of a busy street, take him to a helicopter landing pad, ride past the dog park, or just enjoy his sweet demeanor and adorable nicker for attention the moment you walk out of his sight. Phoenix is a very loved and special 6 year old, 15.3hh, thick and big boned registered Friesian Sport Horse gelding, located near Harrisburg PA. He is out of an Appaloosa mare by a Friesian stallion imported from the Netherlands that showed successfully in dressage. Happily rides English or western! He crosses bridges, rides over tarps, through water, and isn’t phased by cars, fireworks, sirens, crowds or dogs. Excellent at the mounting block. Never naughty, silly or dangerous under saddle. Phoenix spent his early years riding fence lines in Texas, so in the arena he’s still figuring out contact and getting the hang of dressage basics. Although he needs finishing in arena work, he is easy to train and happy to try anything asked. Easy lateral work. Would best suit an intermediate or advanced rider due to his age, and I think an experienced rider would thoroughly enjoy finishing him to their liking. He loves to jump and doesn’t bat an eye at fillers. I am not a jumping rider myself but have popped him over small cross rails, and free jumped him several times over flowers, barrels, and pool noodles and he didn’t bat an eye. He is very fun to ride and would make a phenomenal eventer with his game attitude to anything that is asked of him! He’s up to date on everything and is an easy keeper. NO MAINTENANCE, supplements, etc. NO vices. Cross ties, straight ties, loads, clips, bathes, etc. Easy for farrier and vet. He self bridles too! He currently stalls at night and is turned out all day, but has happily lived out 24/7 in a gelding group as well as stalled 24/7. He thrives with attention and isn’t a good fit for the fair weather rider, your husband, the grandkids, or the occasional trail ride. He likes working and he will stand at the gate all day and wait to come out and work. Phoenix has an absolute Labrador personality and loves engaging with people, and is an in your pocket kind of horse. He has good , hard feet, no blemishes, NO soundness or health issues. Easy keeper. Clean legs. Will pass a rigorous PPE. I have owned him for a year and am happy to share anything and everything about him to serious buyers.
