Austin is an absolutely gorgeous spotted gelding. He is 8 years old and stands 15 hands high. He has a beautiful conformation and a nice stout build. Austin is a unique animal: a spotted saddle horse/Missouri Fox Trotter crossbred. He is super flashy with a smooth gait. He carries himself in such a classy way, and that makes him a very fun and enjoyable horse to ride. His super smooth gait is all natural and requires no special shoeing or bit. He will gait down slowly or go a little faster when you ask him! He has the same consistent gait whether you’re traveling at 5 miles per hour or 15 miles per hour. Austin is a wonderful, all-around horse that our entire family has enjoyed! We have ridden Austin countless miles on every type of trail you could imagine. On the trail, Austin has loads of experience. On camping trips, he has been a trusted mount every single day. He is dependable, strong, and surefooted on the trail. He is a horse that each member of our family has enjoyed riding. Austin will go up and down the steepest hills with ease. He crosses logs, mud, ditches, and deep water like a pro, and handles all sorts of terrain with confidence and skill. He is genuinely a trusted mount. He also has plenty of confidence to ride out alone all by himself or be the leader in a big group. We have used him to lead other colts and horses off of while training them to lead. Austin has also been shown at local fun shows by our entire family and always does great! He does not mind the noise, lights, or commotion and is always the well-behaved gentleman we know and love. He always comes away with a ribbon and is a head turner for sure. Austin drives a cart very well, as you can see in the video. He will stand patiently while mounting from a mounting block as well. He is also traffic safe and has been ridden through town many times! Austin has also been hunted off of and pays no mind to leading dogs, flashing lights, or navigating through rough terrain- even at night. We’ve also used Austin around the farm to check fences and cattle, and to move and sort cattle. He is up to whatever task you ask him to do. He is very familiar with dogs, cats, goats, and other livestock. He pays no mind when the goats and cats go in and out of the stall and pasture with him! He is used to the guns, tarps, and whips, as you can see in the video. Austin is a gentle, laid-back horse, but is responsive to what you ask him to do, and not necessarily a “dead-head” type of horse. He is so much fun to ride. He is the kind that will get up and go when you ask him to, but will also walk along on the trail when you want to do that as well. He is stout enough that he can take you into the mountains and ride 6 plus hours a day. Austin is the type of horse that, if you know the basics about riding, you should be able to have the BEST ride around! We would love for you to schedule a visit with Austin! *CONSIGNED to MyHorseConnection.com * More info visit website or call (606) 416-2570*
