If you are looking for a good, safe horse for your kids or grandkids, one that you don’t have to worry about them getting hurt or scared on, then take a look at Ashes. He is such a cool little horse and every kid’s (and parents) dream. He is a quarter pony, 13.3hh and 14 years old, low to the ground yet fast enough to keep up with the bigger horses. He has been there, done that, and nothing bothers him or spooks him. Ashes is an excellent ranch horse and junior rodeo/playday horse for a handy kid, more of a step up type than a beginners horse because he is quick footed and fast. He will go as fast or as slow as you want him to, but he knows his job and always shows up to do it well. Ashes rides excellent out on the trails, has been around cattle and has had a rope swung off of him. He rides quietly out in the pasture, crosses water with no problems, and will go up, over or through anything you point him at. He has no alley issues and is as honest as they come. Guaranteed safe and sound with no maintenance required and no bad pony habits. No matter how long he sits in the pasture, he stays broke and will not buck, rear, bite, kick or take off, won’t rub your kid off on the fence or under a tree. We have owned him for nearly a year but my son is huge and has outgrown him. He has won 2 buckles, a bronc halter and $100 this winter on him at the playdays, coming in Reserve Champion overall and 3rd in poles overall yesterday for the 3 playday series. He also won 1st in barrels, poles and the mystery race back in November, coming in Champion for the day. The boy who owned him before us won saddles, buckles, money and loads of other stuff with him. Ashes runs barrels, poles, straights, goats ties, and jumps. He will ride out alone as well as with a group, will happily lead or follow, and has been ridden down the road and in traffic and isn’t bothered by it. Ashes has excellent ground manners, stands quietly tied, loads and hauls well, and gets along with all other horses out in the pasture.
