Janie is an 18-year-old 13.3HH grade mare looking for a confident, intermediate rider who enjoys a thoughtful project and understands how to build strength and clarity through consistent work. Her current owners purchased her from auction about three years ago and have put significant time into lessons and developing her foundation. She has primarily been ridden at the walk and trot and is a forward-moving mare with a good work ethic. She has been lightly introduced to the lope on the ground but has not been consistently worked there yet and would benefit from proper conditioning and balance work. Janie can be sensitive to pressure and may become over-stimulated if cues are unclear. When this happens, she may overthink the request, resulting in head tossing and/or rushed responses. With a calm, consistent rider who gives her time to process, she settles nicely. Things to know: • Friendly in the pasture but can be difficult to halter if she sees one (very food motivated though) • Sensitive to pressure; may head toss or rush responses, especially when backing or disengaging the hind end • Limited lope experience due to rider comfort level, not lack of try Janie is not a beginner or kid-safe horse at this time. Her owners are looking for something more bomb-proof for family trail riding and play days, and Janie simply has more sensitivity and forward energy than what fits their needs. Good home is a priority 🥕Low-Mid XXXX Cle Elum, WA Videos available
