Justa Hitman “Hitman” is a 2012 sorrel stallion, who stands at 16.3 hands, and 1300 pounds. He is also 5 panel negative. Hitman is by the great racing stallion, Hard Hitting (SI 98), who has $358,923 in earnings on the track, in 13 starts. Hitman is double bred First Down Dash (SI 105), triple bred Dash for Cash (SI 114), and double bred Beduino. Just within the first three generations (directly on his papers), this stallion has 13 horses within his linage, who have won money on the track, with 6 of those having won over $100,000. Hitman has never been officially raced on the track himself, however he was matched raced a select handful of times, unofficially, by a previous owner as a very young horse in NM, and he won those, we were told. His owner previous to us, used him to breeze their TB colts on the track (multiple a day), as he was able to keep up with them and handle several horses a day. Prior to purchase, we did fly down and watch him work on the track ourselves. In addition, shortly before we purchased him, he was also sent to Hayden Todd, the 2015 CNFR Barrel Racing Champion, and patterned on barrels. He has since been worked more on them with us, and he shows great promise with that, but his main purpose has been as a breeding stallion for our ranch. Hitman is gentle, personable, easy to handle, quiet, and such a gentleman with the mares. Our program is a family operation, with lots of little kiddos running around, and something we cannot have here, are any stallions that might hurt one of the kids, even unintentionally. Hitman loves to be loved on. He will stand there all day long for attention, and constantly seeks you out for companionship and scratches. Even breeding mares, he is quick to be corrected by his handler, and he approaches his mares with restraint and manners. We are the only ones who have owned him as a breeding stallion, and he has only been used to hand breed, as that’s just what we prefer to do with our program. We love this stallion so much, we have kept several of his fillies, for replacement mares, into our broodmares string. Therefore, we feel he should go onto another home, and continue as a breeding stallion. As of now, we are the only ones offering his foals for sale. A PPE is welcome, at buyers expense. He is very fertile, and settles mares usually, at their first cycle. Often with only one breeding. He is very breeding sound, and has never had any issues or breeding injuries. We also do not bre outside mares, therefore, he is only breeding mares in a closed herd. He is being sold as a breeding stud only, at this time, as we simply haven’t rode him much lately, as our program has been so busy. He is sound, though, and can easily go back to it. We can discuss more on that, over the phone, if interested. This is a great opportunity to own a great stallion! Check out more about him and his foals at : www.donohuequarterhorses.com
