Karma de Preto was bred at Jaz Ranch in Utah in 2020. https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=4632051163532476&set=a.912976882106608 I bought him in early 2024 with 60 days training. His body type is modern, not the heavy baroque type. He has very nice, elastic movement in all three gaits, particularly for an Iberian. He has good overtrack at the walk with no lateral tendencies. He does not have a lot of knee action and moves more like a warmblood than an Iberian. He is over the back and flexible at the loin. He has a lovely topline with a strong neck, loin and haunches. He tracks up at the trot and has nice long strides with suspension. His canter is quite nice but at this point still needs more balance. He is currently just under 16 hh and will probably get a little taller as he develops more collection. He is very suited to regular Dressage and would do well in Working Equation. I think he could also do well in Western disciplines. COMMENTS ON RIDING OR TRAINING: In training we have achieved fairly good balance and at the walk Karma is doing turn on the forehand, shoulder/counter shoulder-in, traver/renver, leg yield, side pass, beginnings of half pass, turn on the haunches and reverse turn on the haunches. At the trot he is doing shoulder-in, counter shoulder-in and leg yield. We started canter work this year and he is picking up both leads. He has a good understanding of the bridle and goes on a light contact. He is trained mainly with seat/weight/leg aids and is very sensitive to those aids. He is good on the ground. He cross ties, stands well for grooming and farrier, clips, baths, loads, blankets. He has a kind disposition and learns quickly. He has been healthy since I've had him and his feet are exceptionally nice. He has beautiful feet and goes barefoot. He really deserves to go to someone with knowledge of the young horse mind and the skills to continue his development, he could go grand prix in the right hands.
