Flying V Katie is a high end, ranch proven filly with the mind, structure, and training that serious buyers look for and rarely find. Coming up on a year of solid foundation and real use training from day one;
She is exceptionally quiet in the box and never bolts. She rides with a true gas pedal feel. Ask her to go and she goes. Sit down and she comes right back to you. She is soft, responsive, and stays between your hands and legs.
Katie is gentle enough for someone who’s never ridden, even safe enough for young kids. She’s a very calm practical all around mare that has the talent and bloodlines to go in any direction. She is naturally careful and takes care of her rider. She has never bucked, never kicked, and has never shown any form of aggression.
She is used for ranch work, pasture roping, and trail riding. She’s roped cattle off of her ranging from 400 to 12,000 pounds. She stands approximately 14.3 hands with good bone, balance, and a strong hind end.
She stands dead still for shoeing and is the easiest horse I have ever shod. Other horses can move behind her and around her without issue. She is comfortable with pressure and noise, including a snapped bull whip, she’ll stand quiet and focused.
Katie has a correct, powerful stop and will slide around 10 feet when moving out. She turns properly on her hind end and has been trained to keep that hind foot planted. She is fast and athletic when asked, with the fastest speed recorded at 30 mph.
She is papered with proven Little Lena and Hancock breeding and is a cow and reining bred horse out of the Flying V Ranch.
