On My Watch (Chester)
2017 15.3hh bay unraced TB gelding
Chester is a sweet, quiet guy, sound and simple. He is more of a kick ride than most TBs, but a little shy and sensitive on the ground. Has been used as a mid-level lesson horse for the last few years. He is straightforward and easy to ride W/T and over little Xs, but needs a rider that can help him balance a bit at canter, when going over larger jumps, or to give him confidence at shows. He does fine with beginner riders on the lunge. Doesn’t rush his fences or over-jump.
Trailers easily, ties with no issues, good for the farrier and vet, gets along with other horses (not dominant). All around nice guy to have in the barn and to work with. Chester is fine in stalls but is happiest with regular group turnout and another gelding buddy to play with. He has been to a lot of shows. This guy will be very missed, he just isn’t what our program needs at the moment. Sometimes he can spook if paired with a fearful or out of balance rider, otherwise I wouldn’t say that is a problem.
Has competed thru BN in eventing, Training level dressage, 3’0” jumping.
