Meet Amigo 12 year old grade gelding looking for his next adventure. He stands 14.2hh and has nice big feet. He is currently fully shod but has been barefoot as well. Amigo has had a fair amount of training over the last couple years of me knowing him. He has a really solid handle in the arena and can walk, trot, canter with ease. Has a nice stop. Turn on haunches and forehand. Sidepass, etc. When being ridden on a regular basis he leans more to the lazy side but he can move out when doing fun things (clinics, obstacles, basically things other than just going around the arena (boring 🥱) or in a new place. Amigo can be a little insecure in new places or doing unfamiliar tasks and likes a rider that isn’t going to be overly nervous. He also cries like a baby when his neighbor leaves their pen. 🙄 but if he is the one being taken out to leave there is no issues. Horses can come and go in the arena and he could care less. If he is being worked and with his person he is fine. Left in his pen all alone and he cries. I just ignore it, but i would consider it a quirk. Amigo ties, cross ties, bathes, stands good for the farrier and clips with no problem. If he is feeling insecure he might paw while tied. He does know how to hobble tho. My ideal candidate for Amigo is a young rider looking for a nice solid mount that wants to do a variety of riding. Arena work, obstacles, trails, etc. A rider who can laugh at his “quirks” and enjoy all the positives this gelding has to offer under saddle.
