Cold Springs HMA mare - capture date 7/12/2010 approx 2-5 months old at capture DNA report shows 1. Andalusian/Lusitano, 2. Arabian and 3. Non-Arabian oriental - Akhal Teke, Caspian, etc I’ve had Autumn since fall of 2013. She's lovely and special and looking for her new person. Autumn is bold, opinionated and very affectionate. Life circumstances are pushing me to find her a new home and I will be extremely selective and take my time to make sure it’s a good fit. She would do well with a little adventure in her life, but if she gets attention she’s okay as a pasture pet too. She’s the first to greet you at the pasture, is always easy to catch and loves attention. Her main vice is that she does not like being alone and will always need to be with another horse. Autumn's ideal person: You are experienced and sure of yourself, you are able to communicate clearly and most importantly, you are patient. She doesn’t have a preference for men or women but she does like a balanced person with a strong, calm sense of self. Autumn prefers heat over cold. She gets pissy when it rains a lot and likes warm and dry weather. She loves open spaces and moving; she’s a mustang after all. She loves being touched almost as much as she loves treats. When she backs her butt up to you she isn’t going to kick, she’s just trying to help you get the right spot to scratch. Autumn responds very well to training and retains information like no other horse I’ve worked with. She loves learning and picks things up in a few short sessions. She was started under saddle years ago and took to it very quickly, but I no longer ride so she’s would need restarting to get under saddle again. I've done a fair amount of ground work with her. She requires a confident handler but falls in line nicely when she knows she can relax into the role you want. Last year we went to a few Linda Hoover clinics and she did really well. She stands great for the farrier and vet and loads easily on a trailer but sometimes needs a little coaxing. Autumn has lived in open pastures with mixed herds since I’ve had her. She does well with mares and geldings. She’s a boss mare but will adapt to other pushy type horses. She has such a great personality and she hasn't been through any trauma so she is very present and in her body. She is an excellent companion horse. She has excellent hooves, has always been barefoot, and is as healthy as they come. In the summer she has an incredible velvet sheen and is more liver colored. I have her on a mineral supplement and a small amount of teff and beet pulp mostly because she likes her snacks. She had her teeth floated last spring and is current on vaccines and has had bloodwork done in the last year.
