Maple is a 3-year-old large grade QH-type pony with the kind of quiet, sensible brain that is increasingly hard to find. She has been brought along thoughtfully and is proving to be an exceptionally level-headed young pony. She is lightly started under saddle and currently walk/trots quietly, hacks around the property, and has been confidently introduced to ground poles, tarps, and new environments. Maple approaches new situations with a calm, thinking attitude rather than reacting. On the ground, Maple is kind and respectful. She picks up all four feet easily and has been straightforward to handle. While she can be slightly reserved with brand-new people initially, she warms up quickly (nothing a couple cookies can’t fix). Maple is still green as expected for her age and is not yet cantering under saddle, but she is progressing correctly and shows all the right qualities to develop into a very nice lesson or children’s pony with continued mileage. She has been lightly introduced to a bit, but I’ve mostly been working her in a halter and rope. ✨ Highlights: • Large pony size • Quiet, sensible temperament • Lightly started W/T under saddle • Introduced to poles and tarps • Picks up all four feet • Started slowly and correctly • Excellent future lesson/kids prospect She is best suited for a knowledgeable program or family to continue her education. With further training and mileage, Maple has the foundation to become a reliable and useful mount for a young rider.
