Patti Cakes, 14.3H (sticked with shoes on, currently barefoot), 11 year old Haflinger type mare, chestnut with flaxen mane/tail, wide blaze face Patti is a pretty mare with angelic ground manners (does not move an inch on the cross ties) and a sweet disposition. She is currently turned out with geldings as it ended up this winter in our turnout situation, but she also gets along with mares. Patti has lived most her life (9 of 11 years) with the same family, where she was used as a children's driving horse. Her riding consisted mainly of pony rides and walk trot rides around the farm. For this reason, she is rusty on her riding and considered green under saddle. She has not done anything bad but she does need more riding miles put on her to finish her out, NOT necessarily by a "professional" just someone who wants to spend time with her. One thing that stands out about Patti and is unexpected- this mare has a simply gorgeous sweepy trot! The potential is there for dressage if you want to take her in that direction. Under harness, she can be driven by just about anyone according to her old owners. We have not driven her yet, but we do have equipment that fits her and we are happy to drive her if that is what you want to see/do. Under saddle, we are giving her a tune up and her price may change to reflect additional training by us. For now, we are pricing her low because of her greenness. If you are looking for a sane, sweet, sound prospect to work with who already has real life experience and mileage, or a driving horse, she is a diamond in the rough. Patti is sound with no blemishes. We pulled her shoes after the winter ice melted, and she is currently barefoot and has great feet. She had the winter off due to bad weather and is back in work this month and looking for her new home who will love and cherish this beautiful little gal.
