JC Name: Austin from Boston 16.3hh 2018 Located in Southeastern PA Background: Austin is a bay gelding with the cutest face. After coming off the track in the Fall of 2024, he was given let down time and lightly restarted before I got him in June 2025. We did some continued light riding in the summer and fall last year and he has since had time off starting in mid-November due to the weather and winter and no access to an indoor. He does do well barefoot with renegade boots for riding and loves living out 24/7 with friends. (Currently turned out with just geldings but with his previous owner I was told he got turned out with mares.) He is a sweet horse with fantastic ground manners. He has such a good brain and loves to be doted on. Stands well for vet, farrier, crossties, good manners in a stall if he needs to be in one. Current Situation: Due to the winter off, he does need PT and core strengthening before being ridden again as he does have kissing spine. His back was recently injected with steroids for comfort in preparation for Spring and getting back to work. He also thrives with regular chiropractic and acupuncture sessions. Why a new home? We are unfortunately not a good personality fit for each other and he deserves a person that he fully clicks with. New home: He would be great in a home where someone has the time to meet his PT needs and once you get to the riding part, he would make someone a very nice leisure horse. He has no desire to be an upper level horse of any kind so he is not suitable for that kind of home. I could also see him being used in a therapy program where he is worked with on the ground or a companion home. More Details: I have a couple of short riding videos from last year that I could send to interested parties. There will be nothing current as we work to building up strength over the next couple of months. A small rehoming fee would be required along with references (vet, farrier, someone involved in the care for where he will be living, and individuals to vouch for you and the care you provide for a horse). I can also share xrays I have of his back. I want him to go to the right person and right situation. He deserves a long term home! He would come with his blankets and renegade boots. He is currently up to date on all regular veterinary care with visits from a barefoot trimmer every 5 weeks. Currently located in southeastern PA. Please text for more info.
