Ash is a Friesian/Quarter Horse cross with the kind of quiet confidence that makes him a joy to have around. He’s naturally more whoa than go, with an extremely smooth trot and canter and a steady, unbothered mind. Not spooky, very personable, and famous for his ridiculously long mane and the hilarious faces he makes at his people.
Under saddle, Ash is all business. He is straightforward, comfortable, and reliable, and has proven to be suitable for a wide range of riders — including adult amateurs and younger riders — thanks to his quiet, steady nature and willingness to work with his rider.
On the ground, Ash appreciates a confident, matter-of-fact handler. He can be a bit expressive with new people initially and may test boundaries with typical “grouchy” looks or posturing, but he is very manageable for anyone with basic horse handling experience and settles quickly once he understands expectations. This does not carry over into his work under saddle, where he is consistent and uncomplicated.
Ash is best suited for a home that values a kind, sensible horse and is comfortable handling him with quiet confidence. In return, he offers a safe, enjoyable ride and a personality that people quickly grow to love.
