LOXLEY’S OPTIMISM
Exceptional FEI Small Tour Schoolmaster | The Ultimate Professor
2011 Bay Gelding | 16.2hh | By Lord Loxley | Located in Florida
An incredibly special opportunity to own a truly exceptional FEI schoolmaster.
Loxley has enjoyed a highly successful competition career in both the UK and USA, consistently achieving scores over 70% at Prix St Georges and Intermediate I.
He is, quite simply, the definition of a true schoolmaster.
Exceptionally safe, kind, forgiving and endlessly willing, Loxley has that rare ability to look after his rider while still offering the sensitivity, quality and education required to perform at FEI level.
He is incredibly tolerant of rider mistakes, never takes advantage and genuinely enjoys his work. Whether you’re learning your first flying changes, developing your feel for the higher-level movements or working towards your USDF Bronze and Silver medals, Loxley is the ultimate professor.
He has established changes through to one-tempis and has been introduced to piaffe and passage. However, his greatest strength is his exceptional education and reliability through Small Tour, where he truly excels.
What really sets Loxley apart is his extraordinary temperament.
He is genuinely one of the safest, most dependable horses you could wish to ride. New environments, busy showgrounds, unfamiliar arenas, trails and different riders are all taken in his stride. He is remarkably unflappable, loves going to new places and approaches everything with confidence and enthusiasm.
Despite his wonderfully sensible nature, he is far from dull! He has a lovely personality, plenty of character and a cheeky sense of humour on the ground. Under saddle, he is an absolute gentleman.
Loxley remains sound, in regular work and competitive at Small Tour level. As a mature performance horse, he benefits from some routine maintenance, which we are happy to discuss openly with serious buyers.
A very difficult sale of a much-loved horse.
With our family growing and a new baby on the way, I have had to make the difficult decision to reduce my riding commitments.
Loxley has given me so much over the years, and I would dearly love to see him continue doing what he does best — helping another rider learn, grow in confidence and achieve their dreams.
He has far too much knowledge, enthusiasm and love for his work to simply stand in a field when he could be giving someone else the wonderful experiences he has given me.
He would be an incredible partner for an amateur wanting to progress through the levels, a junior or young rider looking for an experienced FEI partner, or anyone seeking a truly safe, educated and enjoyable horse.
Loxley isn’t just a schoolmaster. He’s the horse who makes you a better rider, gives you confidence and reminds you why you fell in love with dressage in the first place.
A very special horse, and finding him the right home is incredibly important to me.
